[Taken from youtbue...]Courtesy of a little digital magic, the young man in this poster really does know when it's a British Airways plane. And that really is the actual flight number and where it's flying in from.

From Adage
British Airways' "Magic of Flying" by OgilvyOne, London, took home the Grand Prix in the direct category at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Great fun! Children love watching aeroplanes fly by. Guess, this is a great Children's Day message too.
Somehow, this is a quarter of great celebrations and cheers in Singapore and around the world!

For me the biggest events are the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the presidential elections in Indonesia. Yes, other events more worthy happening now include the upcoming National Day Celebrations in August, the annual Eid holidays, Mid Autumn Festival and the 2014 Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix happening on 19-21 Sept 2014 - woo... A new title sponsor!

TPM Outdoor is geared up to celebrate with our clients by introducing 2 special offers. One is the Checkpoint Media offer that includes 3 of our top sites. TPM is also re-launching one of our largest billboard - A spectacular billboard is situated at People’s Park Complex (Chinatown). Just in time to create a strong branding and high impact billboard before the 8th September! 8th September is Mid-Autumn Festival, one of the most important festival in the Chinese Culture, celebrated in every Chinese place all over the world. Chinatown and its annual street lighting festival will be the heart of the festivities in Singapore.

What a busy and activity filled quarter! Have your brand be part of all these through powerful and costs effective billboard displays.
I had posted several Out-of-Home executions that have done good, as in literally - Leo Burnett Chicago & Sydney took on Coca-Cola's Happiness Without Borders to a new level.
Taken from the website:
In March 2013, Coca-Cola set out to break down barriers and create a simple moment of connection between two nations -- India and Pakistan. The initiative "Small World Machines" provided a live communications portal between people in India and Pakistan and showed that what unites us is stronger than what sets us apart. The key to engaging with each other through the machines was simple: people in India and Pakistan could complete a task, like touching hands, drawing peace, love, and happiness symbols -- together.
Let OOH reach you in all senses - sight, sound, smell, taste and touch. Then let it touch your heart. Coca-Cola rolls out happiness in the other campaign here
Coca-Cola brightened up everyone's day by Rolling Out Happiness as the Coca-Cola truck creates an instant park in an otherwise gray city square.

I cannot seem to better describe this Coca Cola ROHA - Roll Out Happiness campaign then to quote the friend that shared this video with me - "who says banner ads has to be vertical wall. what about flat on the FLOOR!!!!"

Fun.
Along the same lines of getting increasingly jaded, I learned a new word today - Wild Postings, or as Wikipedia - it also known as flyposting - [is a guerrilla marketing tactic through the act of placing advertising posters or flyers in legal or illegal places....]

[In the United States, these posters are also commonly referred to as wheatpaste posters because wheatpaste is often used to adhere the posters. Posters are adhered to construction site barricades, building façades and in alleyways]

I remember Apple iPod did a series of these worldwide in 2004. I now know the terminology for it.

Nice.

Arriving at the half year mark, TPM is excited to launch our second Newsletter for the year to share more about one of our many key business locations, the largest city and capital of Indonesia, Jakarta.

Achieving a 6.23% economy growth and 26% increment for foreign investors in 2012, Indonesia emerge as one of the top market for global investors and a worthy contender to join the BRICS group.

Being the gateway of Jakarta, the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is Asia’s 4th busiest airport with 57 million passengers in 2012. This international airport is enjoying a passenger increment of 15%-20% each year since their opening in 1985. With Terminal 2 to be anticipating the ASEAN open sky policy in 2015, we are sure we can see the figures shooting up to a greater height.

Airport is the hotbed for advertisers, with millions of travelers yearly; we can understand why brands are all fighting for a space in the airport for a chance to reach out to their target audience. Just to name a few, OCBC NISP worked with us to showcase their status in the airport with a custom premium lounge concept with our concept lightboxes at the international baggage claim area. For tourism, we have Singapore’s Resorts World Sentosa and Macau Tourism strategically placing their advertisement at check-in counters targeted at specific airline's frequent flyers.

What is the meaning of life if there is just work and no fun? As the living quality of Indonesian rises, we can see a booming demand for luxury cars, consumer goods and also entertainment premises. Located at the 56th floor of the BCA tower in Jakarta, SKYE is the one place to party and dine. Instant getaway from the hectic day and we are sure that magnificent view of the skyline will captivate you and set you into the "Kick Back and Relax" mode in an instant.
TPM Newsletter Jakarta Introduction

Shifting the attention back to Singapore, we are proud to be part of the massive network campaign that the Singapore Police Force (SPF) initiated during March this year. To raise awareness of scam crimes and also thief, the SPF launched their awareness campaign nationwide using our prestige sites to educate the public about crime prevention. From sites along Eu Tong Sen St to table top displays in 8 major food centers, we can assure that the message is clearly brought across to Singaporean of all ages and nationality.

The half year point marks a fun and exciting start for the year and also more that is to come in the coming second half of the year. We look forward to share more of our achievements to you.

Developed by the Grey Spain, this simple but effective Out of Home advertising uses a simple lenticular technology to achieve its campaign objective.

From Gizmodo -

In an effort to provide abused children with a safe way to reach out for help, a Spanish organization called the Aid to Children and Adolescents at Risk Foundation, or ANAR for short, created an ad that displays a different message for adults and children at the same time. The secret behind the ad's wizardry is a lenticular top layer, which shows different images at varying angles

Good Out of Home advertising is - simple, effective and thought provoking. Algorithm mix of location, media, creative, production techniques and execution.
